GamCare has announced the appointment of a new Clinical Operations Director, with Tim Hodgetts set to start in August.
Hodgetts brings over 22 years of experience in medical and social care, including holding senior leadership positions at the NHS, such as the Deputy Director of Integrated Care Services at the Dorset Healthcare University NHS Foundation Trust.
As GamCare's Clinical Operations Director, Hodgetts will work with the leadership team on the "strategic oversight and all operational management" of the charity's clinical and support services, including the National Gambling Helpline.
GamCare Chair Margot Daly stated, "I am delighted to welcome Tim on board; his expertise, knowledge, and insights are invaluable to the GamCare team's clinical leadership. I look forward to appointing more senior positions when appropriate."
Hodgetts himself added, "I am excited to join GamCare and support the team in achieving its priorities. Having the opportunity to lead and support the organization in continuing to deliver high-quality, personalized support services, including the leading National Gambling Helpline, ensuring those affected by gambling harm get the best possible outcomes, is why I am drawn to this role."
"I am looking forward to working closely with existing partners, the NHS, and the government, and to building new relationships to help shape the future of prevention, education, and treatment in the field of gambling harm," he continued.
Last month, a YouGov study revealed that only 9% of workplaces have a support policy for gambling issues, prompting GamCare to call for increased workplace support for employees affected by gambling.
