The Cyprus National Betting Authority announces the launch of a one-week responsible gambling campaign. The slogan for the event is “Safety is the true hero of every game,” and activities will be held from October 7 to October 13, incorporating various measures to raise awareness about gambling harms.
The regulatory body states that its goal is to inform the public about ways players who feel their gambling is getting out of control can seek help and treatment. The program will include a range of activities, from demonstrations and educational workshops to hands-on seminars and interactive games, to engage the public.
Chairperson Ioanna Fiakkou of the Cyprus National Betting Authority said, "By providing information, we aim to prevent adverse consequences and create a protective environment for players and society overall."
This initiative will take place ahead of the 2024 European Week of Safe Gambling promoted by EGBA, which is scheduled for November 18 to November 24. This annual collaborative initiative seeks to raise awareness about safe gambling across Europe and to foster discussions among gambling operators, regulatory authorities, support organizations, and experienced experts on player protection.
This year marks the fourth implementation of the program. Efforts will include social media campaigns and a series of workshops to enhance understanding of safer gambling, sharing best practices and tips, and offering resources and services.
