News from the Philippine Chinese Chamber of Commerce: We fully support the Philippine government's policy decision to comprehensively ban offshore gaming operations (Pogo) in the Philippines. In recent years, the rapid development of the Pogo industry has brought about many social problems, such as increased criminal activities, deteriorating public security, and difficulties in managing foreign population, impacting the harmony and stability of the Philippine society and negatively affecting the friendly relations between the people of China and the Philippines.
The Philippine government's resolute action in banning Pogo demonstrates its high regard for public security and the welfare of the people. The Chinese government has always completely banned and resolutely combated all forms of gambling, including Pogo. China and the Philippines have a deep historical connection and strong bilateral relations, maintaining close cooperation over the years in fields such as economy, culture, and education. We believe that the implementation of the policy to completely ban Pogo will help to improve the public security environment, enhance the quality of life for the people, and create a healthier social atmosphere for cooperation and development between China and the Philippines.
To ensure the smooth implementation and effectiveness of this policy, we call on all community groups and relevant institutions to take active measures, rigorously review related businesses, and ensure all activities are legal and compliant. Each community group should solemnly pledge to adhere to the policy, eliminate any violations, advocate for industry self-discipline, establish correct guidance for healthy development within the Chinese community, and set a positive and good image for the Chinese overseas.
We believe that through the active participation and joint efforts of community groups, we will contribute to building a more prosperous, stable, and secure social environment.
