In July, Maine's sports betting revenue amounted to $42.9 million, marking the second highest level since the launch of sports betting in November. According to data from the Maine Gambling Control Department, the revenue was $6 million, which was higher than June's $3.4 million and the historical record of $5.4 million set in January.
The state has two licensed sports betting operators. In July, DraftKings, in partnership with the Passamaquoddy Tribe, reported a betting amount of $36.8 million. Caesars, in partnership with the Wabanaki Confederacy, Houlton Maliseet Tribe, Mi'kmaq Nation, and Penobscot Nation, reported a betting amount of $5.9 million.
Maine allocates 10% of the adjusted total revenue for taxation. Data from July shows that Maine paid a total of $603,283 in taxes.
