Former Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) CEO Carl Brincat has been appointed as the Director of Policy and Regulatory Affairs at LeoVegas.
Brincat took office in August and will report directly to Abby Cosgrave, LeoVegas' Chief Legal and Compliance Officer.
In his new position, Brincat will be responsible for overseeing and managing relationships with new regulatory bodies and authorities as LeoVegas enters new global markets. He will also lead the policy efforts of LeoVegas and coordinate relationships with industry trade bodies.
Brincat was initially appointed by the MGA in January 2021, and after his fixed term ended, he resigned from the position of CEO at MGA this January.
Charles Mizzi succeeded him, taking over the role after Brincat’s departure.
LeoVegas has also recently acquired the US operations of Tipico, thereby exiting the US sports betting market with this operator.
This acquisition is expected to be completed by the end of the third quarter.
