SOFTSWISS is expected to receive certification for its casino platform and sports betting in Brazil. The certification process is being carried out by authorized testing labs and is currently underway. As this process unfolds, SOFTSWISS has shared insights into key requirements for success in the booming Brazilian market.

Last year, SOFTSWISS obtained GLI-19 and GLI-33 certifications, laying a solid foundation for meeting Brazil's regulatory standards. However, the Brazilian market has its unique regulatory requirements. Through close consultation with the certification labs, SOFTSWISS identified key priorities set by the Brazilian government, including player registration, Know Your Customer (KYC) protocols, and responsible gambling behavior.

SOFTSWISS Co-CEO Andrey Starovoitov commented, "We see Brazil as a very promising region and are encouraged by the progress in local regulations and the efforts by local authorities to refine and strengthen the existing legal framework. The stringent requirements for gambling software emphasize responsible gambling and public protection, with regulators aiming to effectively balance these with commercial interests. The Brazilian government is striving to maintain the attractiveness of white labels in this market, ensuring a healthy environment for operators and participants."

Enhanced Registration Process

A prominent feature of the Brazilian regulatory approach is the emphasis on robust registration procedures aimed at mitigating potential risks for participants and operators. The regulations require new participants to provide a CPF number (Brazilian Individual Taxpayer Registry Number) during registration. The system validates the number to prevent the creation of multiple accounts and ensures registration using accurate personal details, thus reducing fraud risks.

This measure is crucial for preventing underage gambling, protecting self-excluded individuals, safeguarding operators from bonus abuse, and enabling the government to monitor tax compliance on profits.

Strict KYC Protocols

The Brazilian regulatory framework is also expected to introduce enhanced KYC procedures. Specific user actions such as password reset or profile update may require additional verification steps. One possible implementation is activity checks, necessitating technical upgrades for most existing platforms. This method ensures higher security and compliance while protecting both operators and end-users.

Commitment to Responsible Gambling

Responsible gambling is a top priority for Brazilian regulators. They are developing a comprehensive set of requirements that will allow players to control their gaming activities. These features must be seamlessly integrated into gaming platforms, reflecting the government's commitment to protecting players and promoting a safe gambling environment.

Given its extensive expertise in this field, SOFTSWISS is fully capable of meeting these requirements. With a strong track record in maintaining high security standards, the company helped operators secure about 6 million euros through its anti-fraud team in the first half of 2024, proving its capabilities. These efforts have not gone unnoticed; SOFTSWISS has received several industry accolades, such as the SiGMA Africa Award, solidifying its reputation as a leader in the field.

Earlier this year, as part of its strategic expansion in Brazil, SOFTSWISS appointed legendary F1 driver Rubens Barrichello as Non-Executive Director for Latin America. Barrichello is renowned for his success in the highly competitive world of racing, possessing valuable expertise in harnessing cutting-edge technology and innovation. His involvement also ensures that SOFTSWISS benefits from his deep understanding of the Brazilian market and integrates a local perspective into its product development.
