USA—The Louisiana Gaming Control Board reported this week that the total gaming revenue in July was $180.8 million, a 6% decrease from the same period last year. Among the five gaming districts in the state, three saw a decline in revenue.
In Lake Charles, revenue fell 8% to $69 million. Golden Nugget Lake Charles Hotel & Casino had the highest revenue at $25.2 million, followed by L'Auberge Casino Resort at $23.2 million. Delta Downs Racetrack Casino Hotel brought in $12.8 million, and Horseshoe Lake Charles Hotel & Casino made $7.8 million.
The New Orleans area saw a 12% increase in revenue, reaching $44.2 million. Harrah's New Orleans led with $17.7 million, Treasure Chest Casino made $12.5 million, and Boomtown Casino & Hotel earned $8.5 million.
The Shreveport/Bossier City area reported a 19% decrease in revenue to $41.6 million. Margaritaville Resort Casino made $14.3 million, Horseshoe Bossier City earned $8.6 million, and Bally's Shreveport Casino & Hotel brought in $8.3 million.
Revenue in Baton Rouge grew by 3%, reaching $23.6 million. L'Auberge Casino Hotel led with $12.4 million, Queen of Baton Rouge made $7 million, and Belle of Baton Rouge earned $0.5 million.
Additionally, online sports betting also saw significant growth, reaching $23.5 million, a 43% increase year-over-year, with betting amounts reaching $172 million, a 41% increase from last year.
