In July, the online sports betting handle in Washington D.C. was $27.3 million, a 254.1% increase year-over-year; revenue was $3.9 million, up 176.2%.
Until July 17, FanDuel was the sole online sports betting provider in the region through its partnership with DC Lottery, but with the 2025 budget, a more competitive online sports betting market has opened, and BetMGM, Caesars, and DraftKings are now active across the market.
FanDuel accounted for $20.1 million of the $27.3 million wagered in July. Its betting handle decreased by 13.4% from $23.2 million in June. BetMGM, in partnership with Nationals Park, had a revenue of $282,661 and a betting handle of $3.3 million in July. Caesars, partnering with Capital One Arena, earned $210,172 from a betting handle of $1.9 million. DraftKings, in collaboration with DC United, generated revenue of $113,293 from a betting handle of $1.2 million.
So far this year, online sports betting revenue in Washington D.C. has reached $162.8 million, a 65.4% increase compared to January through July 2023.
