According to Philippine media ABS-CBN News on August 25, the lawyer of the controversial Mayor Alice Guo, Stephen David, stated that he has lost contact with his client.
David told ABS-CBN News via text message, "I haven't communicated with Alice Guo for several days."
Previously, media reports claimed that Guo had left the Philippines.
David has not yet commented on the statement from the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC), which suggested that Guo might head to the Golden Triangle.
Earlier, PAOCC spokesperson Winston Casio mentioned that Guo's family has business interests in Cambodia, "They are part of a large criminal organization known as the Fujian Gang, which is associated with the Triads in the Golden Triangle."
Earlier this month, Guo was dismissed by the government for her serious misconduct involving illegal Philippine offshore gaming operators.
Guo is facing a human trafficking complaint from the Department of Justice and is undergoing a quo warranto petition regarding her citizenship issues raised by the Office of the Deputy Prosecutor General.
According to the Philippine National Bureau of Investigation, based on matched fingerprints, Alice Guo is actually the Chinese citizen Alice Guo.
