According to a ruling by the Australian Communications and Media Authority, streaming service 10 Play, provided by Network Ten, has breached gambling advertising rules.

Following complaints from a viewer, The ACMA investigated and found, on two live-streamed sports events, gambling advertisements outside allowed times.
Current Australian regulations state that gambling advertisements must not be shown by online content providers during live sport events between 5am and 8.30pm, including in the five minutes before and after the event.
Network Ten has been issued a formal warning as a result.
“These rules are in place to minimise potential harm caused by gambling promotional content,” said Authority member Carolyn Lidgerwood.
“Streaming services are expected to have systems in place to provide their ads in line with the law.”
According to Network Ten, the breach was caused by “an error in a manual coding process” and that its processes have been upgraded “to provide more automation around the scheduling of gambling ads.”
