The president of Loterj and the vice-president, Hazenclever Lopes Cançado and Fabíola Esteves, received a visit from Marzia Turrini, global digital president of BMM Testlabs at the headquarters in Rio de Janeiro. They discussed the improvement of the regulation of betting houses in the state, aiming for more security in the operations of the games.
“BMM is a global laboratory, the first in the gaming sector, with 33 years of experience in all markets. We have a commitment to Brazil and plan to set up a laboratory, generating more jobs for the Brazilian market”, emphasized Marzia Turrini, global digital president of BMM Testlabs.
Loterj intends to launch, still in 2024, its notice to accredit a laboratory in the area of game certification. “Loterj will have a certification model that will bring security to bettors and that will not make the operation of accredited betting houses unfeasible. We want the notice to fully correspond to what is required in the international market, the demands of the laboratories, and also what is suitable for the bets”, stated Hazenclever Lopes Cançado.
The executive from BMM Testlabs highlighted that certification is a further step in regulation. “Certification is a consequence of rigorous, transparent, and uninterpretable regulation. It is very important to ensure that the game and the platform are certified to protect the player and the industry”.
“Responsible gaming and certification are part of this legalization. We are committed to maintaining our independence and impartiality and are very excited to work with Loterj. BMM can help so that the implementation of the certification is the most suitable for the market”, explained Turrini.
The benchmarking meeting, held on August 22, also included the participation of Natália Fernandes and Polyana Sayuri, from the legal area of Loterj.
BMM has just been hired by CAIXA Loterias S.A. as a provider of technical certification services for its fixed quota betting system.
Last April, BMM Testlabs was approved to test and certify terrestrial games, online games, and fixed quota betting systems in Brazil by the Secretariat of Prizes and Bets (SPA) of the Ministry of Finance. This historic approval reinforced BMM's capabilities to test and certify any gaming product, to any technical standard adopted by any gaming regulator, in Latin America and any other regulated gaming market in the world.
In addition to this federal accreditation, BMM has already been authorized to perform compliance testing and certification in the three Brazilian states that recently regulated online gaming and sports betting – Rio de Janeiro, Paraíba, and Paraná. These three states are in the process of granting licenses to operators, which will allow them to offer fixed quota sports betting, casino games, and skill games.
As part of its commitment to the Brazilian market, BMM is establishing a local laboratory from where the company will provide its full range of compliance services and solutions, including pre-compliance testing, customized security audits, geolocation testing, and software quality assurance (SQA).
