
The most important media conglomerate in Latin America is increasingly getting involved with the world of sports betting, online gaming, and now, casinos. Editora Globo, one of the arms of the Brazilian communication giant, will hold the seminar "Challenge of Regulating Bets and Casinos" on August 26 in its auditorium in Rio de Janeiro.
With sports betting and online gaming in the process of regulation and the legalization of casinos in Brazil ready to be voted on by the Senate Plenary, Editora Globo will discuss the challenges for the country in this new economic moment.
The free seminar "Challenge of Regulating Bets and Casinos" will take place in the Editora Globo auditorium in Rio de Janeiro, and will have two discussion tables on the topic. It will bring together authorities and experts to debate the challenges of the new legislation for bets and the bill that legalizes other gambling games in Brazil.
The first table will gather Celso Sabino, Minister of Tourism; Senator Irajá (PSD-TO), rapporteur of the gambling bill in the Senate; Hazenclever Lopes Cançado, president of Loterj; and Magno José, president of the Brazilian Institute of Legal Gaming (IJL). The topic will be "The challenges of regulating bets and casinos and their impact on the states".
Subsequently, aspects of responsible gaming and the care for the mental and financial health of gamblers will be discussed. At this table will be Anna Lucia Spear King, psychologist and PhD in mental health and founder of the Delete Institute – Conscious Use of Technologies; and Paola Figueiredo, president of RioSolidário, an entity that receives financial support from Loterj with resources from lotteries and iGaming. The table will be moderated by journalist Ascânio Seleme.
The seminar "Challenge of Regulating Bets and Casinos" is an initiative of Editora Globo and has the support of the Government of the State of Rio de Janeiro.
