Lottery expert Kurt D. Freedlund joins the GLI team

The globally renowned lottery expert Kurt D. Freedlund has joined the team at Gaming Laboratories International (GLI®) as a Senior Account Executive for Lottery Solutions. He will work with clients in this area of GLI, providing world-class strategic insights and solutions regarding operational modernization products and consultancy support, governance, strategic planning and execution, procurement optimization, and business analysis.

Freedlund has a long history in the lottery industry. Most recently, he was the founder and CEO of KDF Consulting & Solutions, which assisted various stakeholders in the lottery sector to address current issues impacting their future. He also served as the president of LottoInteractive Inc., where he actively represented the lottery industry in Washington D.C. to lobby against the Restore the Wire Act legislation.

Previously, he served as COO and General Counsel at the Georgia Lottery Corporation, overseeing all operations and legal matters. He also represented the Mega Millions Consortium in working as an attorney at the MUSL office to create and implement the PowerBall-Mega Millions cross-selling initiative; the creation and implementation of the Georgia Lottery's iLottery program and the regulatory oversight of coin-operated amusement machines by the lottery.

He was the Deputy Executive Director and General Counsel of the Illinois Lottery, where he served as the principal advisor for the creation of the Big Game (now known as Mega Millions).

His insights into the lottery industry have been featured in various gaming trade publications, and he has been a keynote speaker at gaming and lottery expos around the world. He earned his Juris Doctor degree from Northwestern University School of Law and holds a bachelor's degree in Political Science and History from Northwestern University.
