Football lovers no longer need to wait for the Brasileirão to make their predictions. This Tuesday (16) marked the debut of the Cartola Betting Pool, a game mode that allows fantasy managers to have fun with friends by guessing the outcomes of matches. The tool allows users to make predictions in the Carioca, Paulista, and Mineiro championships. The novelty is free and available in beta version on the Cartola website and app. The format is just for fun, with no prizes awarded.
The dynamics are quite simple: by accessing the feature, fantasy managers have until the start of the matches to make their predictions about wins and draws. For each correct prediction, three points are added; on the other hand, making a wrong prediction or failing to make a prediction in a given round does not change the score.
At the end of the competitions, the person with the most points wins. Each user can create/participate in up to 10 betting pools, and each can have a maximum of 100 participants. Inviting everyone to participate is easy: the rooms will have shareable links for participants to invite whoever they want to join the contest.
"The love for football moves us 365 days a year. With this in mind, we kicked off 2024 by introducing new features for the fantasy managers to have a ‘warm-up’ of our game, while the emotions of the Brasileirão are not yet underway,” highlights Daniel Martins, head of Cartola.
“The Cartola Betting Pool is an opportunity to bring new competitions to the game and game formats beyond team line-ups. This launch also reinforces our purpose of building communities through new dynamics that encourage socialization among fans,” he adds.
