Loto Real del Cibao company came out in support of the decision made by the Ministry of Finance.
Dominican Republic.- A recent order from the Ministry of Finance has established the prohibition of sales of unauthorized foreign lotteries in the Dominican Republic.
In light of this news, the executives of Loto Real del Cibao issued a press release supporting the decision of the Ministry of Finance.
The measure orders the discontinuation of marketing and sales of unauthorized foreign lotteries in the country. According to the report, the order aims to eliminate the draws of gambling games such as Anguilla, Florida, New York, King Lottery, Mega Millions, PowerBall, and other international franchises.
The press release from Loto Real del Cibao emphasizes that "these activities not only lack the necessary guarantees for legal security and tax collection, but they also do not provide our customers with certainty for prize claims, nor ensure the integrity of the draws."
Furthermore, the executives highlighted that the sales of these foreign lotteries constitute a "violation of intellectual and industrial property", thus, the transactions constitute "unfair competition", making it "imperative that all market agents, including private electronic lottery concessionaires, lottery banking consortia, and software developers, refrain from incorporating in their development or operation applications that facilitate the sale of foreign lotteries."

In this regard, the statement invites other companies linked to national lotteries involved to adhere to the new rules implemented by the Ministry of Finance and comply with these regulations, thus ensuring a "fair and regulated" gaming environment, where "observance of the regulation is crucial for the development and integrity of this economic activity in the country."
