The company promotes sustainable practices in Africa and India linked to water supply.
Press release.- Amusnet has advanced in its mission to play a positive role in the social sphere through its ongoing collaboration with the NGO "charity: water" through its innovative slot machine "Drops of Water", which was launched in 2022 for charitable purposes. Through it, the company has contributed to support vital projects in Africa and India by donating 3 percent of the game's profits to the NGO.
charity: water works with local partners who have a community-focused approach and years of experience in implementing effective and sustainable water projects in their areas. These are the projects that Amusnet has funded in the last two years:
In the Indian Thar Desert, Amusnet's donations are funding six rainwater harvesting systems, executed by GRAVIS, a local partner of charity: water. The contribution is part of a larger grant that provides 184 domestic taankas (rainwater harvesting systems) benefiting more than 1,288 people.
Each taanka is built with the active participation of the households directly involved in the construction process. Hands-on participation provides essential water resources and equips local communities with the necessary skills for ongoing maintenance and repairs. The local partner has also conducted 17 training sessions on water and sanitation for 487 community members.
The local partner of charity: water, the International Rescue Committee (IRC), is working in the Sidama and Gedeo areas of Ethiopia, where Amusnet's donations have funded a tap stand of the pipeline system. This contribution is part of a larger grant, and the local partner has made significant progress in building 31 on-site sources in remote locations using local materials.
In all project areas, extensive training programs have been carried out for the Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene Committees (WASHCO) and the water system caretakers. The training involved 179 WASHCOs and 106 subcommittees, with 1,213 participants. Additionally, the IRC has provided training to teachers in four primary schools, including hands-on demonstrations and guidance on sanitation and hygiene practices tailored to children.
Amusnet's funds are currently working in Malawi with the local partner of charity: water, Water For People (WFP). This initiative focuses on the construction of running water systems and wells. Once construction is completed, the project will include comprehensive water quality testing to ensure its safety and effectiveness.
A key element of this effort is community engagement: local governments and residents actively participate in the development and maintenance of these systems. Their involvement is essential to ensure the functionality and long-term sustainability of the infrastructure, extending its benefits into the future.
As Amusnet continues to fulfill its commitment to social responsibility, the impact of its ongoing initiatives in India and Africa illustrates the difference that collaborative efforts can make in the lives of communities facing water scarcity.
