
The entity will provide its support for the eighteenth edition of the premier basketball tournament in El Salvador.
El Salvador.- In a press conference, Yamil Bukele, Honorary President of the National Institute of Sports (INDES) and the Salvadoran Basketball Federation (FESABAL), presented the details of the 2024 Closing Tournament of the Tigo Sport Cup. During the event, it was highlighted that the National Lottery of Beneficence of El Salvador (LNB) became the proud sponsor of the tournament. The season is shaping up to be one of the most exciting in the history of the Major Basketball League (LMB).
«At the Lottery, we are proud and feel a great responsibility in supporting this tournament, which not only serves as a showcase for local talent, but also as a crucial platform for the training and development of our athletes. Basketball, like all sports, has the power to transform lives and reflect the values we want to promote in our society, such as teamwork, perseverance, and personal improvement,» the entity explained in a statement.

The 2024 Closing Tournament will kick off today, Thursday, August 29, with the opening match between Metapán and Santa Ana. This first encounter will mark the beginning of a competition in which ten teams will fight to win the title.

Since its inception in 2015, the Salvadoran Basketball Federation has organized a total of 17 tournaments, with Santa Tecla BC being the most successful team with five titles, followed by Metapán with two consecutive championships.
