On August 30, the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) announced new regulations regarding the display of gaming devices at fairs, exhibitions, and other gambling-related events. According to the "Gaming Devices (Gaming Device Exhibition)" regulations initially established in 2019, any individual or entity wishing to display gaming devices must now obtain a "Gaming Device Exhibition Approval." This requirement applies to both physical and electronic gaming devices, including gaming tables, electronic systems, or other tools used in gambling activities.
To obtain this approval, exhibitors must submit an application at least two weeks before the event starts, detailing the number and type of gaming devices to be displayed, event details, and a statement confirming that these devices are solely for exhibition purposes. MGA charges a processing fee of 25 euros per application. According to the updated guidelines, the displayed gaming devices are solely for exhibition and must not be used to provide gaming services.
