Senator Zhang Qiaowei also stated that he had just received a notification from the National Bureau of Investigation, stating that Guo Huaping was arrested at 1:30 AM on September 4th in Tangerang City, Jakarta, Indonesia, and is currently detained by the Indonesian police at Jatanras Mabes Polri.
The Director of the National Bureau of Investigation, Jaime Santiago, also verified the authenticity of this news, confirming that Guo Huaping is currently detained by the Indonesian police. However, when asked if Guo was with her brother Wesley Guo at the time of the arrest, the Director stated that the information they received was only about the mayor, with no news of Wesley Guo.
Santiago also mentioned that the National Bureau of Investigation is currently unclear about the specific manner of the arrest by Indonesia, but they are coordinating with Indonesian authorities to expedite Guo Huaping's return to the Philippines. He added that the Indonesian Immigration Bureau also confirmed this arrest to the Philippines.
