According to records provided to CT Insider by the Gaming Division of the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection, in one week, 522 players in Connecticut played the same game, Deal or No Deal Banker's Bonanza, spinning over 20,000 times without a single win.

Subsequent investigations by state gambling regulators revealed that a computer malfunction affecting the game's release made it unwinnable, despite advertisements claiming an average payout of nearly 95 cents.

A report included in the state's investigation indicated that after discovering the malfunction, DraftKings refunded $23,909 to all players in Connecticut who had wagered in the game, but did not inform them of the reason.

The investigation also showed that until August 31, neither DraftKings nor the game developer White Hat Gaming had notified the DCP of the incident, which was more than a week after the malfunction was fixed, and the game was only restarted after the regulatory body reached out in response to player complaints.

In addition to refunding the gamblers' stakes, the malfunction also resulted in DraftKings being fined $19,000 and White Hat Gaming being fined $3,500.
