The project proposes comprehensive regulation and the creation of a "complete regulatory framework".

Argentina.- One of the libertarian blocks of the Senate of the Province of Buenos Aires, composed of Carlos Kikuchi, Sergio Vargas, and Silvana Ventura, presented a project to establish "a complete regulatory framework" for the gambling market in the province, which aims primarily to prevent minors from accessing betting.

In this regard, the senators proposed to prohibit certain forms of advertising and sponsorship in sports events, especially those aimed at minors. They also seek to impose restrictions on the participation of celebrities in gambling campaigns.

Among the measures aimed at greater control of the activity, the project stipulates the creation of the "Management Control and Transparency Unit", to audit activities related to gambling.

Additionally, it stipulates the creation of a Provincial Betting Fund that allocates the collected revenues to the prevention of gambling addiction and public health.

"We seek to regulate the gambling market comprehensively, with measures that protect consumers, promote transparency, and modernize the sector, while balancing tax collection with sustainable development," the block stated according to statements collected by the local media La Política Online.

The project of this block arises in a context where, since the government of Axel Kicillof began with campaigns to prevent gambling addiction, with special attention to minors.

In this line, the project of the Kikuchi block also establishes a system to block online gambling signals in key institutions such as schools and hospitals. This last point coincides with another project related to gambling in minors that was recently presented by Emmanuel González Santalla and specifically seeks to prohibit primary school students from using cell phones in class when not required by teaching staff.
