Local council members indicated the intention to adhere to this proposal from the Government of the Province of San Luis, which involves the State Prosecutor's Office, members of the Legislative Power, and representatives from the private sector.
Argentina.- The Government of San Luis, through the Social and Financial Fund, is implementing an interdisciplinary initiative that addresses the issue of clandestine gambling on virtual platforms. As it is a growing problem that endangers minors, the Deliberative Council of Potrero de los Funes showed interest in the proposal and extended an invitation to learn more about it.
The director of the Social Fund, Héctor Mazzina, visited the offices of the deliberative body to provide details about the work being done. Along with other executive agencies, the State Prosecutor's Office, members of the Legislative Power, and private sector representatives, he focused on the established coordination axes.
Mazzina mentioned that they are studying measures to create training sessions that will raise awareness among parents and teachers. Similarly, actions are being evaluated on various fronts such as schools, health, and family. Additionally, he reported that an informational campaign is already being circulated in various media.
For his part, the president of the Deliberative Council, Ignacio Olagaray, commented that council members Cristina Vallejos, Soledad Ríos, and Guadalupe Arrascaeta and members of the Commission of Interpretation and Legal Affairs also participated in the meeting. The official explained that the goal is to adhere to the policies of the Province and to contribute collaboratively.
When presenting the proposal, Mazzina emphasized: "Illegal gambling opens a world without rules. It's not just a matter of evasion: there is no responsible gambling, intervention is necessary to combat it. Illegality manifests both online and physically. Action must be taken in these two realities."
The official said that it is a fraud and that along with economic losses, addictive behaviors can be developed as it involves unregulated proposals. "It is always necessary to participate in responsible gambling with actions that prevent gambling addiction. Therefore, it is necessary to combat illegal gambling. It is a social problem because it destroys families," he added.

With the initiative, channels for reporting illegal gambling, both online and in other formats, will be announced. Emphasis is also placed on the fact that secure gambling sites have the domain ending ".bet.ar".
The campaign emphasizes that the data used by illegal digital platforms can be used for money theft and other scams, in addition to allowing the participation of minors and lacking responsible gambling tools.
