The National Association of Games and Lotteries (ANJL) congratulates Giovanni Rocco Neto on his appointment as the National Secretary of Sports Betting and Economic Development of Sport, from the Ministry of Sport. The entity believes that this measure strengthens the Union's action in favor of the sector's integrity and adds to the efforts undertaken by operators and the Secretariat of Prizes and Betting for an integral and responsible market.
The appointment of Rocco Neto to the position, published in the Official Gazette of the Union this Monday (2), demonstrates the federal government's concern to compose the public frameworks related to the market of online betting and gaming with eminently technical names.
Giovanni holds a bachelor's degree in Law and a postgraduate degree in Political and Social Sciences and has various experiences in public administration. Until this year, he was president of the Association in Defense of Integrity and Rights and Duties in Games and Betting (Adeja BR).
“The ANJL welcomes the secretary and is available to collaborate with the new Secretariat, as it has already done with the Secretariat of Prizes and Betting (SPA), from the Ministry of Finance”, stated the president of ANJL, Plínio Lemos Jorge.
“This dialogue between private agents and the Union, which, by the Federal Constitution, holds the regulatory power of the sector, is very important so that the vision of the players is present at all discussion tables. We are certain that the arrival of Rocco Neto will add to the efforts that have already been undertaken by the operators and by the SPA for an integral and responsible market”.
For the association, the appointment also reiterates the government's commitment to the regulation of the market, essential to dispel the fears of other sectors of the economy regarding the legalization and expansion of online betting and gaming in the country.
The ANJL believes that a healthy and legalized business environment, with the reversal of resources for social good, is of utmost importance for the economic development of sport, one of the main functions of the new department.
Launched in March 2023, the National Association of Games and Lotteries defends the interests of its members, the sector, and responsible and integral gaming, always guided by the encouragement of sport, the safety of betting, and the contribution to the economic development of the country.
Among the members are galera.bet/Playtech, Big Brazil, F12, PagBet, Betnacional, Mr. Jack, Parimatch, BetFast, Aposta Ganha, Liderança Capitalização, Zro. Bank, Propane, Paag, Clear Sale, BetBox tv, StarsPay, WEpayments, 1xBet, and PG Soft.
