This is the third time that the hotel and casino has received this international recognition.
Uruguay.- The prestigious World Travel Awards, which honor the best in international tourism, chose the hotel and casino Enjoy Punta del Este, as "Best Beach Resort in South America", this time surpassing four Brazilian resorts: Dom Pedro Laguna, Suites Beach Park Resort, Tivoli Ecoresort Praia do Forte Bahía, and Vila Galé Alagoas and Vila Galé Cumbuco.
Although the hotel, located at Parada 4 of Playa Mansa, had previously been awarded on several occasions in categories such as best hotel and best casino in South America, as well as best golf resort in Uruguay, in the latest edition of the World Travel Awards, also known as the "Oscars" of tourism, it reaffirmed its position with the award obtained in 2020 and 2022.
Graham Cooke, founder of the awards, commented: "Our winners represent the best of the travel and tourism sector in the Caribbean and the Americas, and I congratulate each one of them. They all play a crucial role in driving their regions towards greater success."
For his part, Diego Berná, general manager of Enjoy Punta del Este, expressed his joy for the award and thanked for the recognition, which he considers a reflection of the effort and dedication of the entire team: "Our commitment is to offer high-quality experiences to our guests, and this award reinforces our mission to continue being leaders in the tourism industry," he noted.
The winners of the regional categories of the World Travel Awards will move on to the Grand Final, which will be held in Madeira, Portugal, on November 24. There, the global winners in each category will be announced, who will be designated as "World Leaders."
After the creditors' board approved the judicial reorganization agreement of Enjoy, there remain doubts about what will happen with the assets of the company that operates casinos in Chile and the Casino Enjoy in Punta del Este, Uruguay.
In this regard, the receiver of Enjoy, the jurist Juan Ignacio Jamarne, stated that, for its second phase, there is a "mandate" from the creditors for the sale of the shares that include the assets of Enjoy Punta del Este.
