At the invitation of Wang Xiaohong, Chinese State Councilor and Minister of Public Security, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sar Kheng will lead a delegation to visit China from September 5 to 7.
According to an announcement from the Ministry of Interior, the visit aims to further promote the bilateral cooperation mechanism between the Ministry of Interior of Cambodia and the Ministry of Public Security of China. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sar Kheng will preside over the review of the law enforcement cooperation achievements of both sides in 2023 during the visit, and discuss future cooperation directions and specific plans.
This high-level visit is expected to further consolidate the cooperative relationship between the two countries in the fields of security and law enforcement, providing new opportunities and directions for bilateral cooperation. Especially in combating online gambling and cyber fraud, whether further cooperation will be strengthened or specific targets will be set will become a focus of attention.
According to the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia, the Chinese and Cambodian police have closely cooperated in the first half of this year, successfully repatriating more than 1200 Chinese nationals involved in gambling and fraud. Both sides will continue to deepen practical cooperation in information sharing, joint control, and combating cross-border crime, jointly safeguarding the security of the people of both countries, and building a more robust China-Cambodia community of shared destiny.
