Media speculation about Genius Sports being in talks to acquire sports betting solutions provider Kambi are “unfounded and ill-informed,” according to Genius Sports CEO and co-founder Mark Locke.
Reports talked of discussions between the two companies over a deal, but both businesses swiftly denied the rumours.
“As policy, we do not comment on unfounded and ill-informed rumours,” Locke said.
“To prevent any further speculation, we can confirm that we are not involved in any discussions of this nature with Kambi."
Anders Ström, chair of Kambi’s board, added: “While Kambi tends not to comment on rumour and speculation, I can confirm that Kambi is not engaged in any such discussions."
