Following the new affordability checks recently introduced in the UK, GlobalCheck has launched a new identification verification service.
The UKGC affordability check pilot went live on August 30, and will require checks on players losing more than £500 per month - set to drop to £150 per month from February 2025.
GlobalCheck’s new solution allows operators to conduct thorough, non-intrusive checks without the need for bank statement checks and open banking. It is distinguished by its use of multi-bureau identification verification, modernising how affordability checks are conducted while ensuring leading match rates.
“These new regulations emphasise the crucial role of robust affordability checks within the igaming industry, said GlobalCheck CEO Alastair Graham. “Our GlobalCheck team understands the delicate balance of maintaining compliance without disrupting the user journey. Our multi-bureau identification with affordability ensures gaming companies can meet the new requirements without compromising the user experience.
“As igaming companies face an increasingly complex and evolving regulatory landscape, GlobalCheck remains committed to being at the forefront of the industry, providing the essential tools compliance teams need to operate confidently and efficiently in regulated markets worldwide.”
