A police official in the Philippines stated that Alice Guo, the dismissed mayor of Banban, Tarlac, might arrive in the Philippines from Indonesia on Thursday evening (September 5).
Colonel Jean Fajardo, spokesperson for the Philippine National Police, mentioned during a press conference held at Camp Crame in Quezon City that meetings between Philippine and Indonesian officials were conducted to ensure proper coordination regarding the transfer of Alice Guo.
"We will immediately inform everyone of the latest developments once we receive information, as there are some procedures to be completed before their departure. Although it is a chartered flight, normal immigration procedures are still required," said Fajardo.
Participants in the meeting included the Minister of Interior and Local Government, Benjamin Abalos Jr., General Rommel Francisco Marbil, Chief of the Philippine National Police, Brigadier General Macapas, head of the intelligence group of the Philippine National Police, and Gina Jamoralin, the Philippine Ambassador to Indonesia.
Abalos and two officials from the Philippine National Police left Manila on Wednesday evening and arrived in Jakarta early Thursday morning.
The chartered plane carrying Mr. Guo and Philippine officials will land at Villamor Air Base, where a press conference will be held upon arrival.
After the briefing, Mr. Guo will be taken to Camp Crame for a physical and medical examination.
Fajardo stated, "We will hand her over to the Senate and have her undergo a physical examination to ensure she is in good health. The Senate has already issued an arrest warrant for her."
The dismissed mayor, her siblings Wesley and Shiela, and their parents have been issued long-term arrest warrants by the Senate for refusing to participate in an investigation into the operations of Zun Yuan Technology Inc., a Philippine offshore gaming operator (POGO) located at the center of Banban, which was raided by authorities in March this year.
Philippine authorities revealed that the dismissed mayor's fingerprints matched those of a Chinese citizen named Alice Guo, which also triggered doubts about her nationality.
The inspector issued an order on August 12 to dismiss Guo Wengui from office for serious misconduct and permanently banned her from holding public office.
This matter is related to the allegations made by the Ministry of Interior against Ms. Guo for her involvement in POGO operations.
