Guo Huaping has already taken a private jet and arrived at Manila International Airport early this morning. However, this trip has undergone some adjustments and changes compared to the previously announced plans, and the public is curious about what happened behind the scenes.
Philippine Senator Raffy Tulfo stated that Guo Huaping's return was delayed due to procedural issues. Guo Huaping was originally scheduled to take the chartered flight RP-C6188, which was supposed to depart from Jakarta at 1:15 PM and arrive in Manila at 6:15 PM.
Tulfo was one of the officials who went to Indonesia to bring Guo Huaping back to the country, along with Interior Minister Benhur Abalos and Philippine National Police Chief Rommel Marbil.
However, Tulfo did not specify the exact reasons for the delay caused by procedural issues. According to statements by Interior Minister Abalos, external analysis suggests that the delay might be due to a discrepancy between the time process requirements of the Indonesian authorities and the operational capabilities of the Philippines. The Indonesian authorities demanded that the Philippines expedite Guo's transfer and even extended the final deadline for her transfer. When the Philippine side received the final message that they had to retrieve Guo before 1 AM, there were no better flight options available, hence the choice of a private jet. There is also a notion that officials were concerned about potential "security issues" if a non-private aircraft was used to transport Guo, a special individual.
After returning to Manila, Guo Huaping underwent a medical examination. At 3:06 AM, the medical assessment by the National Police Bureau doctor showed that the former mayor's blood sugar and oxygen levels were normal.
The National Police Bureau stated that Guo Huaping would not receive any special treatment, and she was also prohibited from using mobile phones, AirPods, and other electronic devices.
Currently, Guo Huaping is in quarantine, awaiting further investigation by the Bureau of Immigration (BI) and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI). Subsequently, she will be taken to the Senate, where she will wait in detention with Shiela for the next hearing.
