The Nepalese Cabinet Minister announced that the Nepalese Cabinet has lifted the months-long ban on the popular short video app TikTok on Thursday.
The Minister of Communications and Information Technology and government spokesperson, Prithvi Subba Gurung, stated, "The Cabinet decided to lift the ban on TikTok under certain conditions."
The minister told reporters, "The decision to lift the ban was made after TikTok agreed to comply with the social media operation directives issued by the Nepalese government following its registration in Nepal." The Nepalese government had imposed a ban on TikTok in November last year.
This means that TikTok ads will re-enter the selection lineup in the Nepalese market.
