Huila Lottery of Colombia celebrated its centenary

The entity commemorated its 100 years of institutional life with a special event. Additionally, as part of this celebration, the Lottery increased its grand prize and changed its corporate image and slogan.

Colombia.- The Lotería del Huila celebrated its centenary at a gala held at the Plaza de Banderas of the Government building. The regional governor Rodrigo Villalba Mosquera and the Lottery manager, Yhina Paola Lombana López, welcomed the attendees, who accepted the invitation to commemorate the long trajectory and institutional life of the company.

Since its creation in 1924, the Lotería del Huila has fulfilled its social purpose and punctually allocates substantial resources monthly to the health system of Colombians.

“We are proud to see how the Lotería del Huila has been a beacon of solidarity and progress throughout this time. It is with great joy that we announce the image change of this centennial institution, a reflection of its evolution and renewed commitment to our community,” stated the governor.

Currently, the Lottery sells about 35,000 tickets generating indirect jobs, with about 200 sellers in the department, 50 in Pitalito, 30 in Garzón, 20 in La Plata, 10 in Campoalegre, and the remainder in the capital, Neiva, and also has 150 distributors nationwide.

«From 1995 to 2023, the transfers have been COP 151.927m (36.2m), resources allocated for the health of all Huilenses in the 37 municipalities,” highlighted Rodrigo Villalba Mosquera.

For her part, Yhina Paola Lombana López, highlighted the role of the entity's sellers. “We have gathered to exalt the Lottery sellers, who have made it possible for this company to reach 100 years. They have been selling tickets of our lottery for more than 40 years, and are fundamental pieces of this great project,” she pointed out.

“This is a centenary that fills us with emotion, with desires to continue working to move this institution forward. It is a purely Huilense company that is sold throughout the national territory. We continue working to make transfers to health and fulfill the mission so that these resources reach the most needy of the subsidized regime,” she added.

The Departmental Government on its own initiative increased the prize plan of the Lottery, with the purpose of giving more opportunities to buyers to win more money every Tuesday in each draw. After several seasons playing COP 1.200m (USD 286,000), the grand prize increased by COP 800m, reaching COP 2.000m (USD 477,000).

Additionally, the entity announced a rebranding to celebrate this centenary. "Our new logo is a tribute to the 100 years of trajectory of the Lotería del Huila. This modern and fresh design symbolizes our evolution and adaptation to current times, without forgetting our roots and fundamental values," they explained about the change in corporate image.

The company's slogan was also changed, from "Los martes de su fortuna" to a renewed: "Luck for everyone!". The renewal process also includes the updating and modernization of the company's website.
