During the raid, about twenty people were arrested and more than USD 6,000 were seized.
Argentina.- Police personnel from the Regional Unit I, of La Pampa, raided a night venue located at the intersection of 19th and 10th streets in the town of Victorica where there were 20 people engaging in illegal gambling, sanctioned by Article 301 bis of the Argentine Penal Code.
At the site, 13 vehicles, the gambling table, dice, and chips were seized. The operation was led by Commissioner Edgardo Díaz Correa, head of the Victorica Department, and was supported by the Special Operations Group (GEO) UR-I.
The police team burst into the establishment and confirmed that the activity was taking place. Several individuals involved in the organization and participation of the illegal gambling were apprehended at the site. The detainees total 20, including individuals from Victorica, Telén, Eduardo Castex, and Algarrobo del Águila, all male and of legal age.
As a result of the raid, several items related to illegal gambling were seized, including the detainees' cell phones, gambling tables, dice, chips, utensils, and an approximate sum of AR$ 5,070,380 (USD 5,000) in cash, USD 100 and a check for AR$150,000 (USD 1,500). In addition, 13 vehicles were seized, which are being reviewed to determine if they contain more elements linked to illegal gambling.
