The statement from the Embassy of India in Laos mentioned that the latest rescue operation freed 47 Indians trapped in the Golden Triangle Special Economic Zone. To date, a total of 635 Indians have been rescued from Laos and safely returned to their country.
The Embassy of India in Laos stated on social media platform X: "Among the 47 rescued, 29 were discovered by Laotian authorities during their crackdown on illegal activities in the Golden Triangle Special Economic Zone and handed over to the Indian Embassy, while the other 18 were rescued after seeking help from the embassy in perilous situations."
