During a patrol in the Nam Ruem area of Kaixing Prefecture County, Thailand, highway police noticed a black sedan driving suspiciously and immediately signaled it to stop for inspection.
Upon inspection, the driver, a 45-year-old Thai man named Wei (transliterated), and three Chinese men were found in the car without passports or other relevant documents. Suspecting them of illegal entry, the officers detained all individuals and took them to the Kaixing Prefecture police station for legal processing.
The Thai driver, Wei, was accused of aiding foreigners in hiding to evade arrest, while the three Chinese men were charged with illegal entry into Thailand.
During preliminary interrogation, all detained individuals confessed to the charges.
Wei admitted to the police that he was introduced by a former colleague to pick up the individuals from a shopping center in Kaixing Prefecture and planned to transport them to Chiang Rai Prefecture, expecting to earn 18,000 Thai Baht for the trip.
