In a well-known shopping mall near Chiang Rai Airport, 19 mobile phones operating on Chinese systems were found in a trash bin. Local police are speeding up the retrieval of mall surveillance footage to identify the person who discarded the phones, suspecting a connection with telecommunication fraud or a credit card skimming gang.

Recently, the Wan Du Police Station near Chiang Rai Airport received a report that a cleaner in a nearby mall found 19 mobile phones in a trash bin.

The cleaner told the police that while cleaning the restroom, they found a suspicious bag in the trash bin, which upon opening, was found to contain all the mobile phones wrapped in black shorts and T-shirts, prompting them to immediately notify the mall staff and call the police.

After inspecting each mobile phone, the police found that all were operating on Chinese systems, but it is still unclear whether these phones are related to a telecommunication fraud group or a credit card skimming gang operating within Thailand.

The police are investigating each phone's serial number, registration, and data to gather more information, while also retrieving surveillance footage from the mall to find the person who discarded the phones in the trash bin, to further confirm any connection with criminal gangs.

The local police are asking for public cooperation; if any other clues or suspicious individuals are spotted in the area, they urge immediate notification to the police to help prevent potential dangers or illegal activities.
