The president of the Lottery and Casinos Institute of the Province of Buenos Aires met in Mar del Plata with union representatives.
Argentina.- The president of the Lottery and Casinos Institute of the Province of Buenos Aires (IPLyC Buenos Aires), Gonzalo Atanasof, confirmed the decision of the Buenos Aires governor, Axel Kicillof, to proceed with the pending tenders for the casinos Hermitage, Sasso, Miramar, Mar de Ajó, Tandil, Sierra, and Necochea.
The announcement was made during a visit to the city of Mar del Plata where Atanasof toured the various gaming rooms and held a meeting with the union leaders of the sector with the tenders of seven provincial casinos currently managed through direct contracting as the central focus of the discussions. This management method has been questioned, and therefore, it is intended to be changed starting from the new tenders, whose terms were set up "listening to the suggestions" provided by the unions. However, there have not yet been any definitions regarding the date on which the calls will be launched.
During his visit to the city, Atanasof also held a working meeting with the general secretary of the Union of Administration, Housekeeping, and Casino Services Employees (AMS), Roberto “Chucho” Páez, and Marcos Labrador, president of the National Casino Employees Association (AECN), among other local workers and leaders.

Through the mentioned tender processes, it is sought to "ensure investments" in infrastructure within the gaming rooms to modernize and equip them, as well as to promote "better working conditions".
"We want to generate predictability for the workers and demand improvements both in the facilities and in the working conditions," affirmed Gonzalo Atanasof.
For his part, Roberto "Chucho" Páez highlighted the importance of the announcement: "We find the announcement made by the president of the Provincial Institute of Lottery and Casinos extremely important. This will provide a predictable framework for all the rooms in the province and peace of mind for the workers. It was one of the issues we were constantly requesting from the provincial government. The possibility of tendering and the association of private capital with the State to carry out this investment."
Finally, Marcos Labrador emphasized that this decision will bring greater stability to the employees of the sector: "The tender of the seven casinos is of utmost importance for the entire casino family, now we will be able to have competitive casinos and guarantee adequate working conditions for our colleagues."
