Dr. Bo Bernhard, Vice President of Economic Development at the University of Nevada Las Vegas, will headline the 2025 edition of Regulating the Game in Sydney.
Press release.- The organisers of the Regulating the Game conference have announced Dr. Bo Bernhard, vice president of economic development at the University of Nevada Las Vegas, will headline its 2025 edition in Sydney.
“Dr. Bernhard is not just any speaker—he’s a fifth-generation Nevadan whose global work has taken him from the glitz of Las Vegas to South Africa, Europe, Japan, Singapore, and beyond.
“A Harvard graduate with a double major in sociology and psychology, his groundbreaking research on the socio-economic impacts of the Las Vegas Strip set the stage for a distinguished international career,” the organisers said.

By 30, Dr. Bernhard had delivered key research addresses on six continents. He later took on the role of Executive Director at the UNLV International Gaming Institute, where he expanded the organization to include four centres of excellence.
In 2021, he became UNLV’s Vice President of Economic Development, spearheading projects at the Harry Reid Research and Technology Park, Black Fire Innovation Hub, and UNLV Incubator.

Argentina.- Se llevó a cabo en Neuquén la tercera edición de G&M Eventos Argentina 2024, evento que reunió a los principales líderes de la industria del juego del país y de América Latina. Más de 150 ejecutivos y ejecutivas del sector de juegos presenciales y en línea de toda Latinoamérica participaron en la tercera edición de este encuentro.
Durante las dos jornadas en el Casino Magic de Neuquén, se combinaron paneles académicos con actividades lúdicas, donde los proveedores presentaron sus últimas innovaciones a través de juegos y torneos.
Se abordaron temas como la perspectiva del sector desde el punto de vista de los reguladores, la transformación digital y la incorporación de nuevas tecnologías, el branding, la imagen y la comunicación de los casinos, los desafíos del juego presencial y los modelos exitosos en programas de juego responsable.

En la segunda jornada, el panel “Regulación y cumplimiento en casinos: una visión desde los reguladores” contó con la participación de Raúl Béttiga, presidente del Instituto Provincial de Juegos de Azar del Neuquén (IJAN).
Béttiga explicó que desde IJAN se trabaja en tres áreas: juegos lotéricos, salas de juego y el programa de juego responsable. Destacó que la organización tiene un equipo técnico sólido que asegura estabilidad a lo largo del tiempo, independientemente de las autoridades provinciales en función.
Para cerrar la segunda jornada, Wanda Leitner, referente de Juego Responsable de IJAN, presentó la experiencia del área, el trabajo realizado y los desafíos del sector.
