Aiming to train new professionals to work in the lucrative gaming sector, lawyer and expert Fabiano Jantalia has just launched LegisMind. Targeted at newly graduated lawyers, experienced jurists, consumers, marketing, communication, IT professionals, and other market players, LegisMind is the first educational hub for Gaming and Betting Law in Brazil.
The educational ecosystem was founded by lawyer Fabiano Jantalia, who has over 20 years of experience in regulation and is an expert in Gaming Law. A Doctor and Master in Law, with an MBA in Finance, the lawyer has award-winning works in the field and won a scientific research contest promoted by the Ministry of Finance in 2018 on the regulation of lotteries in Brazil.
His work served as inspiration for changes in the legislation in the sector, which culminated in the enactment of Law No. 13.756, of 2018. Subsequently, he acted as a consultant during the passage of the new Sports Betting Law (Law No. 14.790, of 2023).
Due to the legislation approved last year, regarding the regulation of sports betting, the market has embraced online games even more, positively impacting the economy and the lives of thousands of Brazilians.
“Proof of this is that Brazil is currently considered the third largest online betting market in the world. To get an idea of the potential of this industry, 14% of the population has made at least one online bet in 2023. This happens because Brazilians are highly engaged in the use of technology and are also sports enthusiasts,” explains Fabiano Jantalia.
A survey conducted by Ambima (Brazilian Association of Financial and Capital Market Entities), the gaming and betting market reaches approximately 22 million people, corresponding to about 14% of the Brazilian population. In turn, according to a study by Banco Itaú, between July 2023 and June 2024, betting apps received R$ 68 billion in bets and paid out about R$ 44 billion in prizes.
The first initiative of LegisMind is the “Game Rules”, the first specialized course in Gaming and Betting Law in Brazil. There will be 15 modules, with over 70 classes, interdisciplinary themes ranging from fundamental concepts and norms to payment methods and responsible gaming.
The course will also have live classes and there will be a certificate for students who complete 75% of the classes. The launch will be on October 10, at 8:00 PM, in an event that will be broadcast live on YouTube.
“We want to be agents of transformation for this emerging market, which will have very high demand for specialized professionals in the coming months. Therefore, we have prepared a complete course, which will teach everything a professional needs to know to work in this market,” highlights Jantalia.
