Philippine Senator Sherwin Gatchalian revealed that Duanren Wu, associated with the Lucky South 99 offshore gaming operator (POGO) in Porac, Pampanga, left the Philippines on June 11, 2024.
It is reported that Duanren Wu and Cassandra Li Ong, the girlfriend of Guo Huaping's brother, left the country at the same time and have no record of returning. Senator Joel Villanueva proposed issuing a subpoena to Duanren Wu, as his name was frequently mentioned during the Senate hearings. Duanren Wu is the founder of Whirlwind Corp, which leases the land where Lucky South 99 is located. Cassandra Li Ong stated in a House hearing that Duanren Wu is her godfather and had served as her translator.
Senator Risa Hontiveros pointed out that the Senate had previously invited Duanren Wu to a hearing but could not locate his address in the Philippines.
Furthermore, Villanueva also inquired about Shiela Guo, the cousin of the dismissed mayor of Pampanga, Alice Guo, regarding her trip to Taipei with Duanren Wu, Guo Huaping, and others. Alice Guo stated that she had no direct connection with Duanren Wu, only knowing him through Cassandra Li Ong, and mentioned that Duanren Wu had originally planned to invest in Pampanga.
Alice Guo, implicated in multiple criminal charges, was arrested in Indonesia and was extradited back to the Philippines last Friday, where she is currently under investigation by local law enforcement.
