Navajo Gaming has appointed John James as the Chief Executive Officer.
Quincy Natay, Chairman of the Navajo Gaming Board, confirmed this appointment.
Natay stated: "John James brings a wealth of experience in gaming and management, as well as leadership skills, to lead Navajo Gaming. James is widely regarded as a top performer in the industry for his outstanding strategy and positive impact. He will drive the continued growth and success of Navajo Gaming as we remain focused on creating job opportunities and boosting the Navajo economy."
James has over twenty years of experience in the gaming industry, having served as CEO of River Rock Entertainment Authority in California, CEO of Muckleshoot Casino Resort in Washington, CEO of Soboba Casino Resort in California, COO of Morongo Casino Resort & Spa in California, and CEO of Gila River Gaming Enterprises in Arizona.
He has also held leadership positions at Seminole Gaming, Pechanga Resort and Casino, and various Station Casino properties.
As CEO, James will oversee the operations of Navajo Gaming's assets, which include Twin Arrows Navajo Casino Resort, Fire Rock Navajo Casino, Northern Edge Navajo Casino, Flowing Water Navajo Casino, and Navajo Blue Travel Plaza.
Reportedly, his goals are to strengthen the economic impact of Navajo Gaming, return revenues to the Navajo Nation, and create job opportunities for Navajo members.

In July 2023, the enterprise launched Hard Rock Sportsbook at Twin Arrows Navajo Casino Resort. The grand opening featured Arizona baseball legend Luis Gonzalez, a ribbon-cutting ceremony, and various promotional events. The partnership with Hard Rock Digital began in 2022 with the launch of a mobile sports betting platform in Arizona.
