Netizen Submission:
40% of people choose to return to their home country, 30% are still undecided and hesitating, and the remaining 30% just follow along. I happen to know people from all three categories, and we chatted casually while smoking, getting a rough idea of their thoughts.
1) The 40% who choose to return home are mostly those who have been in the Philippines for over four years and have made some money. They feel there is no need to risk going to other countries; they prefer to let others go first and see how it turns out.
2) The 30% who are still hesitating and haven't made a choice are mostly those who have been in the Philippines for less than two years. Most of them have saved some money, but not much. They worry about not being able to leave if they return to their country, and fear the dangers of moving to a third country. They are very conflicted.
3) The last 30% who just follow along include two types of people: one is the management and long-time employees of the group. The other is those who have been in the Philippines for about a year and haven’t made much money.
Summary: The only consideration for whether or not to follow the company from the Philippines to a third country is whether you have saved money. Those who have saved money mostly do not want to take the risk, while those who haven’t are forced by circumstances to go despite knowing the risks. It’s really that simple, in the end, it all comes down to money!
PS: POGO is scheduled for a complete shutdown, and if you don't leave now, you'll become undocumented. This is very troubling for the Filipinos!
