The Youth Media Protection Committee (KJM) has officially recognized the online age verification solution provider IDVerse, aiming to enhance the protection of minors online.
This recognition is based on the shocking findings in the "Javelin Report," which highlighted that 54% of families do not monitor or restrict their children's online activities, thereby increasing the risk of identity fraud and exposure to harmful content.
KJM is the central supervisory body for youth media protection in Germany, playing a crucial role in assessing and recognizing effective age verification and protection systems.
KJM is composed of experts from federal and state media authorities, dedicated to ensuring that digital content complies with strict youth protection regulations.
Therefore, the organization's recognition of IDVerse represents its credibility and reliability.
This recognition is particularly significant for the iGaming market, as preventing underage gambling is a primary concern in the iGaming industry.
IDVerse's Global Privacy Director, Peter Violaris, stated: "We are honored to receive KJM's recognition, which proves our firm commitment to the protection of minors and online age verification.
"The alarming statistics of children's unsupervised online activities highlight the urgent need for robust solutions.
"At IDVerse, we have developed cutting-edge technology that not only protects children but also respects the privacy of all users. Our system ensures that only necessary information is shared and that data is securely handled and immediately deleted after verification."
In related news, a report released earlier this year by the ASA showed that the number of times children were exposed to TV gambling ads from 2010 to 2023 decreased by two-fifths. While these findings are encouraging, they also highlight the changes in children's media habits, necessitating online safety measures.
