A regulated gambling operator in the Netherlands has been given 20 working days to supply the regulator with the full details of recent management changes before financial sanctions start.
Kansspelautoriteit (KSA) did not name the operator in question but said its violation of regulations is in relation to its recent takeover.
The management of the company in question changed following the takeover, meaning the KSA was required to check whether new employees have previously been involved in illegal gambling or criminal activity.
The operator sent incomplete information, the KSA said, despite the regulator asking for the full details “on several occasions.”
“Because the KSA cannot now perform the reliability test, the provider is in violation,” the regulator said.
As such, the operator must pay €25,000 for every day in which it does not provide the full information, up to a maximum fine of €250,000.
“As soon as the correct information has been provided in full, the violation will stop,” the KSA said.
“The KSA emphasises that the integrity of providers has a high priority and that it is the provider's responsibility to demonstrate this reliability with the correct information.
“If research by the KSA shows that the reliability of a director is not beyond doubt, or if providers do not provide the correct information, the KSA can take enforcement action.”
