On September 11, in front of a supermarket in the 4th district of Sihanoukville, three Chinese men unsuccessfully attempted to force a Vietnamese woman into a car, and were subsequently arrested by local police.
After the incident, the three Chinese suspects and the Vietnamese victim were taken to the police station for interrogation. The police are still investigating, and the details of the case have not yet been released.
According to a whistleblower, she heard from the initial police investigation that "a woman took the Chinese people's money."
