During the raid, 39 machines operating illegally were seized and about ten people were arrested.
Bolivia.- In a joint operation carried out by the Authority of Gaming Supervision (AJ), the Bolivian Police, and the Public Ministry, 39 illegal gaming machines were seized in a house located on Warnes street in the city of Santa Cruz.
The intervention was executed after an exhaustive investigation that identified the location. The establishment had a sophisticated system of security cameras and surveillance, aimed at alerting its operators about possible interventions by the AJ.
“These types of illicit activities not only affect the state's economy by evading taxes but also pose a risk to the population, as these games are manipulated and designed to defraud citizens,” stated the Regional Director of the AJ, Cristian Alvarado.
During the operation, 10 people present at the site at the time of the intervention were arrested. The detainees will be made available to the Public Ministry to provide informative statements within the framework of the investigation that continues for the development of illegal gaming.
It is worth noting that this operation occurred just one week after another one in the same city where a virtual bingo called “The Grand Prize” was targeted. The site conducted its draws through social networks and invited people to stay in sessions lasting up to 14 continuous hours.
During the operation, the authorities confirmed the presence of eight people, including a minor, who were illegally involved in the activity. 11 gaming devices were seized and the owner of the site was arrested. Meanwhile, the Child and Adolescent Defense arrived at the location for the corresponding protection of the minor.

Also, in the last week of August, the AJ conducted operations in Sucre and Caranavi, in La Paz. The authorities intervened in two gaming sites that did not have the necessary authorizations.
During the operations, a total of six gaming machines were seized, four in Sucre and two in Caranavi, which did not have the authorizations for their operation. Likewise, the presence of minors playing on the machines in both municipalities was evidenced.
