Argentina.- This Wednesday, the Argentine Rugby Union (UAR) expressed its opposition to companies that promote sports betting through an official statement.
The official statement notes: "The entity that encompasses all the rugby unions of the country and in adherence to the international regulations of World Rugby reaffirms its commitment to the integrity of the sport and rejects any type of association with companies that promote sports betting."
"This decision reflects the strong social commitment to contribute to the prevention and treatment of gambling addiction, considering that these companies could have a negative impact on our followers and players, especially the youngest and minors," continues the letter that concludes emphasizing: "At the UAR we prioritize the health and well-being of our community."

In recent years, the presence of European, American, and Brazilian betting companies has grown in Argentina, with a notable impact on football, where 28 percent of the First A clubs already display their names on the jerseys. This situation has led the UAR to reaffirm its stance against these companies to protect its community.
