Philippine Senator Joel Villanueva pointed out in a Senate hearing that Guo Huaping is actually afraid of the illegal offshore gambling operator (POGO) "mogul" Duanren Wu, not Huang Zhiyang.
Villanueva stated that Duanren Wu is one of the founders of Whirlwind Company, controls the Lucky South 99 gambling center in Porac, and is suspected of crimes such as violence and kidnapping.
Villanueva emphasized that although officials from the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) mentioned Huang Zhiyang as the "big boss of illegal POGO", he firmly believes that Duanren Wu is the real mastermind. He stated that Duanren Wu was a Chinese police officer and brought some officers to the Philippines.

Furthermore, Villanueva also mentioned that Duanren Wu is the main beneficiary of the Porac POGO center, actually directed by Zhang Jie, and linked to money laundering activities associated with their residential addresses. At the same time, he stated that Huang Zhiyang assisting Guo Huaping in planning their escape is a fact, which Guo Huaping has admitted.
Previously, Guo Huaping revealed in a hearing on September 9 that they escaped the Philippines by yacht, but remained silent about the specifics of the process.
Moreover, Philippine Senator Sherwin Gatchalian revealed on Monday that Duanren Wu, associated with the Lucky South 99 offshore gambling operator (POGO) in Porac, Pampanga, left the Philippines on June 11, 2024.
