A woman named Catherine Salazar, who once worked for Alice Guo, the former mayor of Bamban, Tarlac, has denied being Guo's body double.
On Friday, September 13, Cath spoke to officials from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), expressing her desire to clear her name and her concerns for her own safety.
She stated, "It was said on TV that I was the mayor's body double, but that's not true, it really isn't me. As the former mayor's farm secretary, I only went out with Alice Guo once."
Previously, lawyer Elmer Galicia had stated that on August 14, while notarizing a statement refuting allegations of human trafficking, he saw a woman resembling Alice Guo sitting in a white SUV.
Cath denied being the woman described by Galicia.
Alice Guo had acknowledged that Cath was her employee, but did not reveal her name.
Cath refused the protective custody offered by the NBI and chose to return to Bamban before attending a Senate hearing. The Senate is investigating the alleged connections between Alice Guo and the illegal POGO (Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators) center in Bamban.
