A man from Malaysia fell into an online romance and went to Myanmar to meet his love, only to be sold into a scam park and become a "piglet." By a stroke of luck, he accidentally became the top salesperson for the criminal group, not only earning rewards but also exceptionally not having his phone confiscated, which he used to plan his escape.

According to China Press, 22-year-old Alex from Miri, Sarawak, who is of Chinese and Malay descent, was trapped in the Myawaddy KK Park in Myanmar for three months. Using his "privileges," he conspired with two other "piglets" to plan their escape, eventually safely getting out of the park and returning to Malaysia.

In an interview, Alex said he was looking for a job on Facebook when he met a woman. They hit it off and after three months of talking, he agreed to work for her company.

Missed the flight three times "felt like heaven was stopping me"

The company's boss actively bought him a ticket to Bangkok, Thailand, but he missed the flight three times due to being late, getting lost, and oversleeping.

Unexpectedly, instead of blaming him, the boss paid for his tickets four times, making him feel ashamed. "I had a bad feeling inside, feeling like heaven was stopping me, but I finally decided to fly to Thailand."

Upon arriving at Bangkok airport, he was kidnapped by a Thai woman and two men. He thought he would meet his lover, but she only coldly texted him saying, "I'm busy."

Alex said: "I knew I had no way out, so I had to start working."

Deceived someone's monthly performance in one day

To survive, he had to work against his conscience for the scam group. Alex mentioned that the group specialized in a "pig-butchering" scam targeting Europeans and Americans, luring them into an investment scheme where they would invest $1,000 (about SGD 1,300) and quickly earn a commission of $2,000 (about SGD 2,600).

Alex said: "Unexpectedly, after tasting the sweetness, that foreigner directly transferred $50,000 (about SGD 65,000) into the group's account, making me accidentally become the sales champion."

As a result, he was favored by the group's leader, who not only did not confiscate his phone but also paid for him to have a night out at a KTV as a reward.

Since he never showed any resistance and worked as instructed by the boss, the park's boss trusted him very much and was less vigilant towards him.

Applied for a transfer between parks as an opportunity to escape

Alex said he met two other "piglets" in the park, and the three of them discussed and devised an escape plan, waiting for the right moment to request a transfer between parks.

Due to his outstanding performance, the higher-ups approved Alex's request to transfer parks. After arriving at the new park, the three took advantage of a handover gap to successfully escape.

He then contacted a Malaysian businessman in Thailand, Mr. Huang, who took them to the Thai Immigration Bureau for investigation, and then safely returned to their country.

He mentioned that he was one of the few "piglets" who could take a phone home, which allowed him to submit the photo of the female trafficker at the airport as evidence to the law enforcement agencies.
