Flutter UKI commits to doing more for the community, offering 200 community sports organizations in the UK and Ireland the opportunity to apply for £2,000 in funding to improve their facilities, purchase new equipment, run coaching programs, and boost sports participation.

Last year's winners included Basa in Rochdale, which offers fitness classes for women over 60, Gosport Archers in Hampshire, and the London Wheelchair Rugby Club, which sent four players to the British Paralympic team in Paris.

Over 85% of the clubs that received funding last year reported that they were able to engage in more activities - with a total of 9,000 new participants aged 18 or older joining health and fitness programs.

Conservative MP and Chair of the bipartisan DCMS Select Committee, Dame Caroline Dinenage, said: "I hope grassroots clubs will take full advantage of applying for the Cash4Clubs grant.

"These clubs play a vital role in our communities, bringing people together, getting them actively involved, and fostering new skills and passions. This money will make a significant difference."

Since its launch in 2008, Flutter has invested nearly £6 million in community sports through its brands, including Paddy Power, Sky Betting & Gaming, Betfair, and tombola.

Flutter UKI CEO Ian Brown said: "The incredible success of the British team at the Olympics and Paralympics in Paris once again highlights the power of sport. We hope Cash4Clubs will play a significant role at the grassroots level by enabling small clubs to have a greater impact in their communities.

"Those trying sports for the first time will gain invaluable benefits, becoming more active or gaining the confidence to take their hobbies to a new level. We believe this program can bring real change to the areas that need it most."

Flutter UKI is partnering with leading UK charity Sported to launch the Cash4Clubs program. The judging panel will select 200 bidders, with a special focus this year on clubs in impoverished areas trying to increase participation.

The English Sports Department plans to improve the lives and communities of the English people through sports activities and sports over the next decade.

Although sports activities have recovered from the pandemic, a report from Parliament last year warned that almost no progress has been made in addressing barriers to participation in sports and physical activities across England.

The UK House of Commons Public Accounts Committee stated that nearly two-thirds of adults in England still do not meet the recommended activity guidelines.

CEO of the International Sports Federation, Sarah Kaye, said: "As grassroots organizations face increasing financial challenges, we see more and more people unable to enjoy the benefits of sports.

"We are honored to collaborate with Flutter on Cash4Clubs, and we will ensure everything goes smoothly."

One of last year's winners, Welcome House Hull, used Cash4Clubs funding to establish Acorn FC, a football team entirely composed of refugees and asylum seekers. They made history by hosting the first match between asylum seeker teams in the UK.

Shirley Hart of Welcome House commented: "With this funding, we were able to get more attention by training more, becoming more professional, and playing better. We partnered with Active Through Football and made history by hosting the first inter-city asylum seeker football match. Without your funding, this would not have been possible."

Craig Streeter, Vice Chairman of the London Wheelchair Rugby Club, said: "We are grateful for all donations, no matter the amount, and sincerely thank Cash4Clubs. These donations help fund everything from championships to videotapes, which are crucial for the development of the club and our members.

"We certainly encourage other clubs to apply for the program. Wheelchair rugby is an expensive sport, and any reduction in financial burden helps our players move from grassroots to Paralympic glory."
